Adrian Sykes

Born in 1970 in Merseyside, Adrian studied at Bath College of Fine Art. He has lived in many different countries and places but is now permanently based in Bristol, as part of the thriving artistic community there. Adrian still travels extensively on his quest for new inspiration.  His paintings often pay homage to the beauty and diversity of the varied areas in which he has lived and travelled, including paintings of France, Italy and London.   His extensive portfolio covers a wide range of form and images; from  explorations of light and dark in intricately detailed black and white drawings, to the fascinating land of the imagination where the viewer is transported into a world of darkly humorous and quirky characters as they play out their wit on the paper.  His favoured subject is buildings, which he paints and draws in his idiosyncratic style.
