Mary Rippon

Based in Cheltenham, Mary was for many years a teacher of textile arts in London, having trained at Nottingham, Hornsea and Westminster Colleges.  During this time, alongside her main career, she provided many embroidered collages for Liberty’s, usually for export to the USA.  Throughout her career, she has always been on the periphery of the arts and crafts including silversmithing, pottery, wood carving and painting. 

For the last four years she has concentrated on making kiln fired glass, incorporating into her unique and colourful designs, dichroic frits and irridescent glass as well as other beautiful pieces of hand made glass.  She regularly exhibits her bulls eye fused glass objects throughout Gloucestershire and is a member of the Fosseway Artist’s Group.
